The South Arm Peninsula Trail is a 9.5 km, grade 2 hike in South Arm, Tasmania, and typically takes around 3 hours to complete. This gravel track runs alongside South Arm Road, stretching from the South Arm store to the Opossum Bay store.
The trail offers stunning views across the Derwent River and provides access to both South Arm Beach and Opossum Bay Beach at either end. Along the way, you'll find a series of interpretive signs that form the Convict Trail, telling the stories of individual convicts assigned to William Gellibrand. To complete your hike, simply retrace your steps back to the trailhead.

Grade 2 (Easy) - A Gentle Introduction to Inclines: Grade 2 on the
AWTGS represents easy walking tracks that offer a slightly more challenging experience compared to Grade 1. Similar to Grade 1, no prior bushwalking experience is required. The track surface is typically hardened or compacted and may have gentle hill sections or occasional steps. The total distance of a Grade 2 walk is typically no greater than 10 kilometers. These walks are still suitable for families with a bit more experience or those seeking a gentle introduction to some inclines.
