Myrtle Forest is a 2km, grade 1 hike situated in Collinsvale, Tasmania, and usually takes around 45 minutes to complete.
This gentle, uphill trail meanders through a fern-covered forest, leading to a scenic creek-side picnic spot and shelter. Continuing along the path, you'll reach the beautiful Myrtle Creek waterfall.
Keep an eye out for the towering mountain ash trees, which are among the tallest flowering plants on Earth, and listen for the chatter of tiny birds like black-headed honeyeaters, often seen searching for insects in the canopy.
The trail also offers opportunities to extend your hike to Collins Cap, Collins Bonnet, or even the summit of kunanyi / Mount Wellington.

From Collinsvale: take Collins Cap Road, after the bridge turn left onto Springdale Road and continue down to Myrtle Forest Road. The trail and car parking is at the end of Myrtle Forest Road.
