Hike overview
This Mount Gorrin hike commences at the Langi Ghiran Rest Area on the Western Hwy. From the rest area make your way over the train line to locate the Langi Ghiran Track. Follow this track north for approximately 2.5km, keeping right at the junction of the Link Walking Track. Turning right at the Langi Ghiran Link Track walk a further 1.5km until you reach Lagoon Track.
The next section of the hike is completely off-trail. You will need to pick the best path through the valley in order to gain the summit of Mount Gorrin. From Mount Gorrin then continue off-trail in a southerly direction, again picking your best path through the rocky outcrops and woodlands. ON reaching the valley try to locate the Lar-ne-jeering painting site and the start of the Lar-ne-jeering walking track. Follow this track to the junction of the Langi Ghiran Track, turning left at this point to return to the start.
Lar-ne-jeering (Langi Ghiran) is Djab Wurrung language for 'home of the black cockatoo'.

Love this hike. Bit of off trail that needs to be carefully navigated but it’s a lot of fun
