Trail Fast Facts
Fairy Dell Scenic Loop is a 1.6km, grade 2 hike in Fairy Dell Flora Reserve, Victoria. This hike typically takes 45 minutes to complete.
Hike Overview
The Fairy Dell Scenic Loop is a short walk through the warm temperate rainforest of the Fairy Dell Flora Reserve. At 80ha in size, it protects an important area of and is a lovely spot to visit. The vegetation is dominated by Lily Pilly and forms a unique forest in combination with climbers, vines and ferns. As you enter the rainforest, you'll notice a marked drop in the temperature, particularly on a hot day. This moist microclimate of the rainforest helps prevent wildfires and conserves the diversity of unique plant species.
The area has been impacted by recent bushfires in East Gippsland and much of the rainforest canopy has been removed. While the rainforest is recovering, it will take many years before the moist microclimate recovers.

These walks are still suitable for families with a bit more experience or those seeking a gentle introduction to some inclines.
