Lace up your walking shoes or grab your bike for a delightful loop on the Hobart Waterfront Track. This convenient route starts from various points, including the Tasmanian Travel Centre, Macquarie Wharf Cruise Terminal, Elizabeth Street Mall, or the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens.
The track offers a perfect blend of nature and history, making it ideal for cyclists and well-behaved dogs on leash.
Start your journey by soaking in the beauty of the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. Next, take a moment to reflect as you stroll past the Soldiers Memorial Avenue, lined with majestic cedar and cypress trees recently restored to their former glory. The adjacent grasslands offer a glimpse of Hobart's native vegetation before widespread development.
On your return to the city center, you'll pass by the majestic Botanical Gardens once again and catch a glimpse of the gates to the old Beaumaris Zoo, a reminder of the lost Tasmanian Tiger.
