Hike Overview
The Aireys Eastern View hike commences at Memorial Arch, approximately 2.5km west of Moggs Creek. The route is mostly along old coal mine and forest trails. Head north along Golf Links Road, turning west onto Coal Mine Track after approximately 350m. This track follows a series of spurs as it winds its way north west towards a ridge line where you will intersect with Moggs Creek Track. Turn right at this junction and follow Moggs Creek track south west towards Moggs Creek.
After 3km you will reach the junction of Moggs Creek Link Track. Turn left at this point and follow the trailto Moggs Creek (that actual creek, not the town). After exploring the creek near Tallawalla retrace your steps a short approximately 1km until you locate Ocean View track on your left. Follow this in a southerly direction towards Moggs creek. There is a short off-trail section, taking you to the beach, after you reach Moggs Creek Track
About the Memorial Arch
The Arch commemorates the construction of the road and symbolizes the sacrifice made by so many in the First World War. It stands astride the largest enduring war memorial in the world, The Great Ocean Road, a living memorial to our forefathers.

Getting there
Drive to Aireys Inlet and on through Moggs Creek for a further 2 to 3 kilometres to Memorial Arch where it crosses the road. Cars can be parked on the ocean side of the Great Ocean road.

Track Grade
Grade 3 (Moderate) - Walks for Most Fitness Levels: Grade 3 on the AWTGS represents moderate walking tracks. These are ideal for walkers with some fitness who are comfortable with some hills and uneven terrain. While suitable for most ages, some bushwalking experience is recommended to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Tracks may have short, steep hill sections, a rough surface, and many steps. The total distance of a Grade 3 walk can be up to 20 kilometers.
