This scenic walk around the Risdon Brook reservoir offers a leisurely experience, taking approximately 1.5 hours to complete. From the eastern side, hikers can enjoy views of kunanyi / Mount Wellington and Mount Direction, while the perimeter offers serene bush views. The wide track is mostly flat, with some gentle undulations around the eastern bay and as you approach the northern end of the reservoir.
It's important to note that the reservoir serves as a vital source of drinking water for Southern Tasmania, so it's essential to be environmentally responsible to protect water quality.
Grade 2 (Easy) - A Gentle Introduction to Inclines: Grade 2 on the
AWTGS represents easy walking tracks that offer a slightly more challenging experience compared to Grade 1. Similar to Grade 1, no prior bushwalking experience is required. The track surface is typically hardened or compacted and may have gentle hill sections or occasional steps. The total distance of a Grade 2 walk is typically no greater than 10 kilometers. These walks are still suitable for families with a bit more experience or those seeking a gentle introduction to some inclines.

The entrance to the park is located off Grasstree Hill Rd, a short distance from the roundabout on the East Derwent Hwy at Risdon.
