I have always been a huge fan of the outdoors but was never a huge fan of walking. My wife would often try and drag me around the streets of the suburbs for some exercise. Occasionally I would join her, but not with much enthusiasm. It wasn't until a family holiday to the Grampians in Victoria that I took a few solo hikes and discovered bush walking and hiking. I have never looked back.

As with everything I do I threw myself into hiking with enthusiasm. I tracked every trip, took photos of all my hikes, wrote trail notes and eventually joined a few hiking groups so that I could share my new found passion. After chatting with fellow hikers, and through searching for new adventures myself I realised how difficult it was to find useful information about hiking. As I had been busy recording all of my hikes I wanted to share as much info as possible in order to make things easier for others.
