The Porosa Circuit is a moderately challenging 10km hike (grade 3) located within Cobbler Creek Recreation Park, South Australia. Expect to spend approximately 3 hours completing this scenic loop.
The trail winds along a combination of historic farm tracks and tranquil paths nestled within the valley of Cobbler Creek. Towering River Red Gums line the route, providing a majestic backdrop for your exploration. The circuit culminates at a hilltop near Teakles Ruin, offering panoramic views of the Adelaide Hills and surrounding plains. You'll also encounter the remnants of the historic 'Trevalsa' homestead, adding a touch of historical intrigue to your journey.
While the Porosa Circuit is a designated hike, Cobbler Creek Recreation Park boasts a network of shared-use trails catering to walkers and cyclists of varying abilities. Some trails are designated for walkers only, while others are dedicated to cyclists. Leashed dogs are also welcome to explore the park alongside Cobbler Creek.
Grade 3 (Moderate) - Walks for Most Fitness Levels: Grade 3 on the
AWTGS represents moderate walking tracks. These are ideal for walkers with some fitness who are comfortable with some hills and uneven terrain. While suitable for most ages, some bushwalking experience is recommended to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Tracks may have short, steep hill sections, a rough surface, and many steps. The total distance of a Grade 3 walk can be up to 20 kilometers.
