Murphys trail - Wentworth Falls to Woodford is an 18km, grade 3 hike in Blue Mountains National Park, New South Wales. This hike typically takes 6 hours to complete.
Hike Overview
From Wentworth Falls this picturesque trail highlights pristine bushland in the central part of Blue Mountains National Park. Choose to mountain bike or walk along Murphys trail - Wentworth Falls to Woodford. With great campgrounds, magical waterfalls and unique Aboriginal sites along the way, it's the perfect nature getaway for adventurous cyclists or walkers.
Starting on Ingar firetail, you'll wind through unspoilt heath and open forest for 9km. At the intersection with Bedford Creek fire trail, there's an optional detour to Ingar campground where you can enjoy a refreshing swim and picnic lunch.
From Bedford fire trail it's a steep descent to Bedford Creek where forest gives way to rainforest and inviting waterholes. Joining Murphys fire trail, there's an optional detour to the tall forests at Murphys Glen campground.
The ride to Woodford takes in open heath with views across the lower mountains towards Sydney and the Cumberlain Plain.

Track Grade
Grade 3 (Moderate) - Walks for Most Fitness Levels: Grade 3 on the AWTGS represents moderate walking tracks. These are ideal for walkers with some fitness who are comfortable with some hills and uneven terrain. While suitable for most ages, some bushwalking experience is recommended to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Tracks may have short, steep hill sections, a rough surface, and many steps. The total distance of a Grade 3 walk can be up to 20 kilometers.

The weather in this area can be extreme and unpredictable, please ensure you are well prepared for your visit.
Check the weather before you set out as Murphys fire trail can become boggy when it rains.
If you're driving, please note there's no vehicle access from Ingar campground to Woodford.

Getting there
Murphys trail - Wentworth Falls to Woodford starts in the Wentworth Falls precinct of Blue Mountains National Park. To get there:Turn off the Great Western Highway at Wentworth Falls at Tableland RoadDrive for 1.6km, then turn left onto Elizabeth Drive.The Ingar fire trail starts at the end of Queen Elizabeth DriveBy car:You can drive 9.5km to Ingar campground, however there is no vehicle access from here. Parking Parking is available at Ingar picnic area.
