Hike Overview

Kangaroo walk is a 5km loop exploring areas of the bushland where large Red kangaroos graze. You may also see a variety of lizaRoads.

The walk starts at the Giralia Homestead and heads out onto the Giralia airstrip passing an old windmill with remnants of old holding pens for sheep.

The wildflowers are abundant in late winter and spring (August to October). The property has stunted wattle, buffel grass, spinifex, blue bottlebrush and snake wood trees. The walk is over flat ground with a maximum of a -metre rise and is well sign posted. There are rest stations on all walks. Giralia Station is an old sheep station on the Exmouth Gulf, 125km south of Exmouth.

Track Grade

Grade 2 (Easy) - A Gentle Introduction to Inclines: Grade 2 on the AWTGS represents easy walking tracks that offer a slightly more challenging experience compared to Grade 1. Similar to Grade 1, no prior bushwalking experience is required. The track surface is typically hardened or compacted and may have gentle hill sections or occasional steps. The total distance of a Grade 2 walk is typically no greater than 10 kilometers. These walks are still suitable for families with a bit more experience or those seeking a gentle introduction to some inclines.
