Hyden Rock Walk is a 1.25km, grade 1 hike located in the Hyden, Western Australia. The hike should take around 45 mins to complete.
Hike overview
This walk trail offers fine views of the surrounding farmlands and remnant bushland. You take the short Wave Rock Walk to a set of railings that climb up onto the main rock formation. It is fairly steep but easy enough for people of average fitness and mobility with appropriate shoes.
The Hyden Rock Walk Trail is a great short trail for people seeking an overall perspective other than just a photo oportunity in front of the wave formation itself. Besides expansive views, you get to see odd rock formations and in warm weather plenty of scurrying dragon lizaRoads. There are two loops. The shorter loop is 860 metres long in total from the Car Park. The second loop is 1300 metres. The routes are well marked, over slopping granite which can be slippery after rain. Read the interperative signage along the way to learn about the rock formations and the fascinating plants and animals. Be aware that there is some accending and descending involved.

About the region
Head for Hyden to catch one of Australia's biggest waves - it's nowhere near the ocean, but it is home to world famous Wave Rock. Over 2,700 million years in the making, the wave rises 15 metres over the outback plain, which becomes a sea of colourful wildflower blooms in spring.
