"Once a jolly swagman camped by a billabong, under the shade of a coolibah tree..." As Australia's adopted national anthem, this tail of the unfortunate but reckless swagman will be impossible not to hum as you traverse the guided 2.6 kilometre walk into the Combo Waterholes. This place is, after all, the supposed billabong that inspired Banjo Patterson's timeless tale, and the swagman's "ghost may be heard as you pass by that billabong" today.
