Explore the Swan Valley's beauty on the Bells Rapids River Walk. This easy 2.5km return trail offers stunning views of the Swan River, countryside, and coastal plains. Immerse yourself in the natural landscape, featuring majestic boulders and (during winter) rushing waters – a favorite vantage point for the Avon Descent event.
Keep your eyes peeled for the abundant grey kangaroos that call this area home (at certain times of year). Wildflower enthusiasts will be delighted with the vibrant display from July to November.
The Bells Rapids River Walk is perfect for a short family hike and picnic: Pack a lunch and enjoy the scenic beauty of Bells Rapids. The easy trail and plentiful amenities make it a great choice for all ages.
Start your hike from the car park on Cathedral Avenue. Head left after crossing the Bells Rapids Park Footbridge and walk along the river before returning via the same route. Alternatively you can turn right as the trail starts to leave the river and continue along the more challenging Bells Rapids Goat Walk.
Grade 2 (Easy) -Â
A Gentle Introduction to Inclines: Grade 2 on the
AWTGS represents easy walking tracks that offer a slightly more challenging experience compared to Grade 1. Similar to Grade 1, no prior bushwalking experience is required. The track surface is typically hardened or compacted and may have gentle hill sections or occasional steps. The total distance of a Grade 2 walk is typically no greater than 10 kilometers. These walks are still suitable for families with a bit more experience or those seeking a gentle introduction to some inclines.
