Hike overview
The Ancient Empire is an interpretative trail that meanders across the forest floor in between 400 year old red tingle trees. Walking into the hollows of the giant tingle trees is an experience not to be missed!
The Ancient Empire is a 450 metre walk trail that takes you around and through some of the giant tingle trees including the most popular of the gnarled veterans, known as Grandma Tingle. The trail follows the story of the lost era of Gondwana.This ancient and unique red tingle forest is a must see during your stay in the south-west! The Ancient Empire is only 18 kilometres from Walpole and 52 kilometres from Denmark. Free entry (partially accessible by wheelchairs and strollers) Opening times Daily 9am to 5pm Extended hours 26 December to 26 January Daily 8am to 6pm Closed Christmas day and during hazaRoadous conditions Plan your trip to include a fabulous free guided tour of the Ancient Empire, guided walks are offered daily outside the school holidays. Guided walks are free of charge, but may be subject to weather conditions. Daily times: 10.15am, 11.30am and 2pm (Subject to conditions)
