The Bungal State Forest is a small pocket of bushland wedged between Bungal Creek and the Moorabool River East Branch. This hike follows an attractive section of the river, grassy flats, ridges and various gold workings.
There are no official foot trails in the forest it is reportedly free of undergrowth and provides enjoyable off-trail navigation.

Often referred to the Little Forest Hidden, Bungal State Forest is set amongst undulating farmland to the west of Melbourne. Spanning only seven square kilometres, the park is rarely visited by walkers.
