This is a proposed rail trail and is not yet open. It is one of the potential Rail Trails identified throughout QLD.
The Honourable Jeff Sweeney, Depty Premier and Minister for State Development, Infrastucture and Planning has announced that The Queensland Government has provide $ 2 million for stage one of the Kingaroy to Killkivan Rail Trail.
South Burnett Regional Mayor, said the Rail Trail would reinvigorate several small towns along the trail while preserving the History of the railway line in the area.
Gympie Regional Council Depty Mayor said it would give his shire a boost in tourism .
Grade 3 (Moderate) - Walks for Most Fitness Levels: Grade 3 on the
AWTGS represents moderate walking tracks. These are ideal for walkers with some fitness who are comfortable with some hills and uneven terrain. While suitable for most ages, some bushwalking experience is recommended to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Tracks may have short, steep hill sections, a rough surface, and many steps. The total distance of a Grade 3 walk can be up to 20 kilometers.
