Most Comprehensive Website for Victorian Hiking Trails

20 March 2016

I am excited to introduce www.trailhiking.com.au, a new online resource designed to provide hikers with comprehensive and user-friendly information about trails across Victoria.

As a passionate hiker, I created Trail Hiking to share my love for the outdoors with fellow adventurers.

“Hiking has been a part of my life for years. Over time, I’ve tracked each hike, captured photos, and written detailed trail notes. I now lead two large hiking groups, sharing the joy of the trails with others. Through countless conversations with fellow hikers and my own search for new adventures, I realised how challenging it was to find reliable and detailed hiking information. With all my hike data, I thought, why not create a website to share these valuable resources? And so, Trail Hiking was born.”

The site currently features over 180 meticulously documented hikes throughout Victoria. It offers detailed trail descriptions, key features, maps, GPX files, elevation profiles, and more. The website is designed to help hikers find trails based on location, grading, and distance, making it easier to choose the perfect trail based on personal preferences. Prior to this, most hiking information was scattered across multiple blogs or limited to popular trails, often lacking comprehensive details.

TrailHiking.com.au is committed to providing hikers with a wealth of resources, including GPX files for easy trail navigation and access to trailheads. Whether you’re seeking a short lakeside walk or a multi-day adventure in the Alpine National Park, the site has something for everyone.

Currently, the website features nearly 170 trails and continues to grow daily. Trail Hiking’s mission is to become the go-to, free resource for hiking trails across Australia, offering valuable gear reviews, planning advice, and helpful tips. To achieve this, I invite the community to visit the site, share their feedback, and contribute their favourite trails and GPX files.

This is a non-commercial, community-driven project I’ve developed in my spare time. The website has always been and will remain free for all users. I hope you will support this initiative by exploring the site and helping to spread the word.
