About the hike
Provide a summary of the hike. This could include information about why you’ve chosen to do this hike and what people should expect to see. Also indicate how far the hike is (kms) how challenging you expect the hike to be (grade), and how long you expect it to take (time).
If you are using a hike on this website, you can also provide a link to it for more info. For example:
- For more info on this hike, visit Razorback and Ah Kow Spurs (13.5km)
If you are using using AllTrails, please do not link to information on that website or I will be inclined to delete it.
What to bring
Provide information on what people should bring. This could include practical footwear, adequate clothing (including outer layers in case the weather turns bad), plenty of food and water,
Attendee limits
Land managers recommend setting a maximum limit of 16 attendees. This will have less impact on the environment than a large group, will not disturb other visitors as much and will make it a lot easier for you to manage the group. If it is a challenging hike, you may choose to set the limit at a lower number. As the more people attend, the slower you are likely to walk. Ask that people respect this and if there are already the maximum number attending, that they indicate they are ‘interested’ instead of ‘going’.
Cost
As my website is not a commercial venture, you cannot charge for any events you add to this website. This event management platform is open to recreational hikers and not-for-profit clubs, not commercial operators.

The only reason why I have deleted Meetup yet was BC of TrailHikers (reducing my social media profile).
This also looks like it contains much more detail for an event, with links to detailed info about the location. Looks great on both Laptop and Phone.
Thanks Barry, really appreciate the initial feedback. I hope people find it useful.
Cool idea. Looking forward to using this. Thanks for all you do to make going hiking easier.
Awesome ice to set this up. Well done.
What a fantastic day out. Thanks so much for organising this.
