Oldaker Falls is a small waterfall situated on the southern end of Burnie Park, a public park with magnificent facilities, playgrounds, gardens, and lawns. The park has car parking which is only accessible between dawn and dusk. From the car park area, several bitumen tracks meander throughout the park that will take you to Oldaker Falls.
Situated on Stoney Creek, Oldaker falls varies in flow throughout the year, and even in winter can experience little flow at times. However, after good rainfall, Oldaker Falls comes to life.
Burnie Park is very well maintained by the local council, so it is incredibly disappointing to see how terrible the weed problem is directly around the waterfall area. Infested with blackberries, onion weeds, as well as errant trees suddenly growing in front of the waterfall, Oldaker Falls looks completely neglected, which is at odds with the rest of the surroundings within Burnie Park. None the less, if you’re in the Burnie area, and there’s been a lot of rainfall, Oldaker Falls is worth visiting.
