This pleasant short walk starts at the Angle Crossing car park (east side of river) and goes down the hill to the river before looping back to the start. There are pleasant views of the river, Gigerline Nature Reserve and Angle Crossing itself.
In autumn, you may be lucky enough to see the migration of thousands of Yellow-faced Honeyeaters (Lichenostomus chrysops) and White-naped Honeyeaters (Melithreptus lunatus) travelling from the mountains to the warmer coastal areas.
- There are toilets provided, and access to a short river side walk.
- You can also easily access good swimming spots.
- Fishing is permitted upstream of the crossing only.
- No bins are provided - please take your rubbish home with you.
- No dogs allowed. For dog friendly recreation along the Murrumbidgee River you can go to Uriarra Crossing, Murrays Corner or Point Hut Crossing.

Getting to the trailhead: Angle Crossing.
This pleasant walk starts at the Angle Crossing car park. Angle Crossing is off Angle Crossing Road via the Monaro Highway near Williamsdale or Smiths Road near Tharwa. Parking is available.
Angle Crossing is the southernmost point of the Murrumbidgee River within the ACT. It is accessed by Angle Crossing Road which takes you down into a picturesque valley to the crossing of the Murrumbidgee River. There is usually water over this concrete crossing and it regularly gets closed due to high water levels, so it is a good idea to check road closures with Access Canberra (phone 13 22 81).
Closest towns to this walk: Cotter River, Hall, Tharwa, Uriarra, Wamboin
Angle Crossing is part of Gigerline Nature Reserve, which is protected under the Nature Conservation Act 2014.

AWTGS represents easy walking tracks that offer a slightly more challenging experience compared to Grade 1. Similar to Grade 1, no prior bushwalking experience is required. The track surface is typically hardened or compacted and may have gentle hill sections or occasional steps. The total distance of a Grade 2 walk is typically no greater than 10 kilometers. These walks are still suitable for families with a bit more experience or those seeking a gentle introduction to some inclines.

Nice enjoyable short walk. Saw a couple of Honeyeaters but we may have been a bit early for the full migration.
