Somersby to Yarramalong via Stringy Bark Point is a 26.7km, grade 4 One way hike located in Jilliby State Conservation Area, New South Wales. The hike should take approximately 2 days to complete.

Hike Summary

This section of the Great North Walk starts form the Somersby General Store and follows the Great North Walk north into the Jilliby State Conservation Area to Stringy Bark Point campsite. On day two the walk continues north through the forest and around the back of some farmland to Cherry Lane and along the Bumble Hill Dray track to Yarramalong village.

Located near Central Coast, Jilliby State Conservation Area is a popular place for 4WD touring, mountain biking, horse riding and long bush walks through the forest. Explore many of the trails throughout the landscape and when you feel like a rest, set up a picnic at any of the two picturesque picnic areas located at Muirs lookout or Stoney Ridge. From Muirs lookout, scenic views stretch out to Lake Macquarie and Lake Munmorah, with a glimpse of the coastline and Bird Island in the far distance.
