Samphire Cove Trail Walk (1.5km)

Samphire Cove Trail is a 1.5 kilometre easy walk through the fascinating environment fringing the Peel Inlet, near Mandurah. This is a special place for Bird watchers. There is a Boardwalk over the wetlands to conserve the delicate vegetation.

The Samphire Cove Trail takes you through the gated nature reserve, and continues on to a long Boardwalk over the wetlands, with a viewing platform and information panels at the end. It is not only an excellent spot for Bird watching, but also a great way to see some of the magnificent canal homes in Mandurah. The Creery Wetlands are an important habitat for waterBirds, including 22 species of migratory shoreBirds. These extraoRoadinary Birds, some weighing only 30 grams, spend the southern summer on lakes and beaches in Australia, then fly north to catch the summer in their northern hemisphere breeding grounds. The reserve is also home to a population of Quendas, a native marsupial. The Nature Reserve is located on the north-eastern side of the Peel Inlet, adjacent to the Mariners Cove residential estate and south-east of the Mandurah Bypass bridge. Toilets are available at the nearby Mariners Cove Cafe.
