Meander Falls are very popular and widely considered one of the great short-medium bushwalks in Tasmanian. The track is quite rocky, and does have some steep sections and there can be snow and mud to negotiate during the wetter winter months. The walk is uphill for app. 3 to 3 1/2 hours,a nd the only relief is the last 20 minutes or so which crosses a short plateau. The falls are in two distincy tiers as they drop through a rocky chasm. A great time to visit the Meander Falls in after snow or frost in winter and spring when sections of the falls can freeze and form large icicles.
Tips

Supervise children , tracks subject to severe weather conditions all year round, weather may change quickly, tracks are difficult to navigate when covered in snow and may be impassable.

About the region
Meander Forest Reserve is a little over an hours drive from either Launceston or Devonport. Deloraine is half way between Launceston and Devonport. Meander is 15 kilometres south of Deloraine with the reserve a further 10 kilometres further on. The road passes the Meander Dam site - Lake Huntsman. The new lake is a very scenic addition to the area. A new picnic area has been constructed overlooking the lake next to the Meander Falls Road.
