Hike Summary
Situated in the heart of the Beelu National Park this nine kilometre loop trail provides the opportunity to wander through some classic Jarrah forest and trace along the edge of the Helena River Valley.
Starting at The Dell, a popular location for mountain bike trails in the Perth Hills, this 9km walk trail takes you through the Beelu National Park and joins up with the Bibbulmun Track on the edge of the Helena River Valley. An abundance of wildflowers will greet you in spring along with the calls of the endangered Red Tailed Cockatoo. At the half way point is an opportunity to visit the Golden Lookout, a timber platform protruding from the landscape providing spectacular views of Mundaring Weir and Lake CY O'Connor. A combination of the right length, nice views and being close to Kalamunda, the Dell to South Ledge trail is a great way to spend a few hours in the Australian bush.
