Jen… It’s still on the list!!!
Let’s just organise it. I have the maps.
Pick a date! Prob Feb-March 2018 would suit me.
Out long weekend is not a long weekend in NSW… That could work!
This track gets some bad wraps due to the long firetrail section after cox river campsite to Jenolan and then long road sections too. yep, bit boring but listen to an audiobook and chill. This is a basic overnighter & as I did it on an Australia Day weekend it had a several groups walking through. (Be careful with water in summer. I had to give water to someone really struggling walking up the firetrail to Jenolan)
I’ve only walked the whole thing once which was from Jenolan to Katoomba. I was happy with this decision after the torrential downpour on day 1 and also happy I camped at Alum creek after hearing how many people were camped at Cox’s river campsite.. packed for Aus Day.
I’ve walked from Katoomba to Coxs River several times while exploring the cox river & the area has a lot of red bellies. As someone who likes snakes this is one of the reasons I like the area but I dread Nellies Glen & underestimate it every time. Quad killer.
