Getting there
From Melbourne, follow the Western Freeway for 78km and take the Daylesford exit. Turn right and drive 30km along the Daylesford Ballan Road towards Daylesford. Turn right towards Castlemaine on the Midland highway and follow it for a few km before turning right onto Malmsbury Road. After less then 1km turn left onto Porcupine Ridge Road. Follow this road north until you reach the Porcupine Ridge Estate. At this point the road turns gravel and drops down over a ford on the Porcupine Creek. Drive a further 1.5km (just beyond the Loop Track) to park where the signposted Goldfields Track crosses the road. There are a few small car parks.

Good trail overall, but the last 3 or 4 kms was along a river gully.
The GPX has the route about 10-20m East of the trail through thick hedge wattle. Just keep to the river gully and the animal track and you should be Ok.
