Well I love the idea of a hiking photography section. So any ideas for photography related gadgets and equipment to carry on a hike?

I’ve really enjoyed the photographic capability of my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra mobile phone. Since having it, I no longer carry a separate camera.

Despite having an SLR, I mostly use my iPhone. Mostly because it’s simple and small but it also takes better pics in low light. I don’t think it’s a problem with the SLR, just the user

I carry an Olympus OM-D E-M1, but to be honest, I don’t think I do it justice. I’ve seen your photos Dougal and its the reason I leave my camera at home.

Light camera, wide lens, sturdy tripod, polarizing filter, extra batteries & memory cards, lens cleaning kit. Keep it simple, capture the beauty. Happy hiking! 📸🏔️

Which camera do you use? I haven’t invested in one yet and still rely on my phone camera.

If you carry an SLR or mirrorless camera. I believe a circular polariser is a must.

I actually have the Sony Alpha a6000. The wide lens captures so much more in my shots, giving them a whole new perspective. Plus, the camera is super lightweight and easy to carry around.

Just had to Google it. That looks pretty cool. Seems you can get decent lenses for it too. I like the thought of the 18–200mm lens as I have to carry two with my current setup.

Yes, It’s super convenient. No more lugging around multiple lenses. My wife just gave me this as a bday presence. I want to share the picture, but there is no option here. 😅

Oh lucky you. I might have to give my wife a nudge. Not sure why pics can’t be shared. I’ll do a bit of research on that as I also want to be able to format text in comments (bullet points, bold etc). Will let you know if I can find a solution.

Managed to activate the visual editor (just required a bit of coding). You should be able to format text and add images now.

Still not working here in my end, I think it’s because I’m just new here in forum. But thanks for updating it. 🍻

The editor seems to want you to link to an image hosted on a website somewhere. Doesn’t appear to allow you to upload images. Maybe that’s the issue?
