It’s also important to acknowledge that my website, Trail Hiking Australia, is providing a ‘join at your own risk’ platform. My website simply provides a tool to allow outdoor enthusiasts to gather together. I do not provide a professional guide service. The people who are organising these events and hiking with you may or may not have navigation or first aid abilities.
They are not required to have a first aid kit on them, that is your own responsibility. Event hosts are not actual ‘guides’ and are simply creating a meeting point for all participants to gather. All a host is offering by creating an event is that they will be at the meeting point to help everyone gather. By joining an event you automatically accept that you have read and agree to the ‘event risks and waiver of liability’. Not reading this document does not excuse you from agreeing to the personal liability terms of this waiver.
