If a hike listing does not yet include a route map or GPX file, you can submit one via the relevant hike detail page. Scroll to the route section and select Upload GPX File.

Submitted files are not published automatically.

How are submitted GPX files verified?

All submitted GPX files undergo structured verification before being added to a hike listing.

This may include:

• Cross-checking against detailed topographic maps
• Reviewing official land manager information
• Comparing route alignment and distance data
• Assessing consistency with known trail conditions

Files are only published once they meet Trail Hiking Australia’s verification standards.

Contributors may be credited where appropriate.

This process prioritises accuracy and user safety over speed of publication.
