Capricorn Coast Pineapple Rail Trail is a 4.5km, grade 2 one way hike, located in South East Queensland, Queensland. The hike should take approximately 2hrs to complete.

Hike Summary

Due to flood damage care must be taken on sections of this trail

A proposed 53km rail trail from the major regional centre of Rockhampton to the coastal resort town of Yeppoon
The first section in Yeppoon has been opened to a high standard.
There is also strong community support to extend the trail all the way to the Rockhampton to join the two communities together.

The railway line was constructed in 1909 and was closed beyond Broadmeadows when its main loading, pineapples, were shifted to road transport in 2006.

The Rockhampton Regional Council has committed to taking on the lease of the rail corridor and funding has been obtained for the first section.
