The Wildflower Wander is a hike up a steep hill with rewarding views over the Adelaide Plains, as well as seasonal opportunities to view wildflowers including native orchids. The quiet gullies are a haven to a variety of small birds.
Start the hike from Gate 3 on Perserverance Road. From the gate follow the Yellowtail Loop south (right) for 200 metres to reach the start of the Wildflower Wander. The trail begins just 20 metres up the first fire track, and is easily seen from the main fire track.
The trail is one-way, but you can:
Mountain bikers are not permitted on this trail. Half way up the hill the trail crosses a mountain bike trail (the Wildside Downhill), so use caution as you approach the intersection (there are give way signs.) We haven't seen any evidence of mountain bikers on section of the trail below this intersection, but see some evidence of the occasional rider above that intersection.

Discover this park's unique features, including ruins of the original Newman’s Nursery, abundant bird life, western grey kangaroos and koalas. Many animals call this area home and the park conserves rare vegetation which was once widespread throughout the Adelaide Plains and Mount Lofty Ranges.
