We were in Spain recently. Caminito del Rey is very over-crowded – bus after bus load of people, long queues. There are better places to go. We hiked Gaztelugatxe – short but uncrowded off-season, a must for any Game of Thrones fans. It is not far from Picos de Europe and Pyrenees. Depending on where work takes you, you will have lots to keep you occupied for 2-3 days if you can get to Basque Country (Bilbao).
We also spent time in southern Andalusia, dry compared to the green north west, lots of mountains and history, you can’t go wrong exploring there either.
