Bushwalking is an Australian activity that covers a wide spectrum of walking experiences in natural or green areas. A bushwalk might be a walk along a trail through urban parks or forest (sometimes called a Green Walk), or it could be a full day walk in a national park or reserve or a bushwalk can be a multi-day trip where you are self-sufficient carrying everything you need on your back.

Bushwalking provides a fantastic opportunity to enhance one’s health and well-being through a connection with nature, learning about and appreciating the natural environment and enjoying social interaction.

Bushwalking Victoria is a member of Bushwalking Australia – a network of Australian state and territory peak bushwalking bodies and a signatory to the International Charter for Walking (PDF, 81k)
